  • A bar is a place where you can buy alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It can be part of a larger building such as a hotel, nightclub, or theatre, or it can be a separate building. A pub is a building where you can buy alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, especially in Britain and Ireland rather than in America. Pubs usually have two or more bars.
